A cold front will pass through later today and usher in some colder temperatures for the remainder of the forecast period. Today, an upper-level trough will pass over the region, which will bring cloudy skies and eventual fog to the summits. In the meantime, a cold front will approach the region and move through late this afternoon, which will trigger an acceleration in wind speeds with a few snow showers. West winds will shift to a chilly northwest direction behind the front tonight, prompting temperatures to take a nose dive into the single digits. The chance for snow showers will remain through the night along with fog, which will result in icing conditions. Total snow accumulations will be light, amounting to no more than an inch or so. Tomorrow, an area of high pressure will begin to nudge in from the southwest, which will allow for periodic clearing and relaxing wind speeds.
